The federal government, the DEA, handles just one percent of marijuana cases in this country and they would have absolutely no way of controlling the private adult use of less than one ounce in the privacy of someone's own home. This would in fact change state statutes and lead to marijuana being legal under state law.

There's a libertarian streak in Colorado and a respect for people's individual rights throughout the West, so there's no reason people shouldn't vote for this.

Once there is no state law, the city ordinance is what the cities and towns would go by and other places ... would have every right to keep punishing adult marijuana users if they chose to.

The whole thing on 4/20 is actually something we're against. I don't really see how smoking marijuana in public does anything positive. It sends the wrong message about the work that we (SAFER) are doing.

Times are changing and the policy needs to change.

There is little doubt this same individual would not have been pulled over if his car was displaying a Coors Light logo.

We plan on bringing out an army of new voters in this state and mobilizing students across the state to get involved here, collecting the signatures and passing this initiative.

Marijuana users do not commit crimes, other than using marijuana.

The people in Denver made it very loud and very clear that they do not want adults punished simply for making the rational, safer choice to use marijuana instead of alcohol in this city.

If the elected officials in this city don't have the guts to stand up for the individuals they represent, we have no choice but to take up the fight on behalf of these individuals.
